Note: I realize this may never get seen buy the dev, but I want to make my experience known anyways. If you feel the same like and comment, and if not that's fine your entitled to your own fun :)
The Good
Defiantly tech wise this game looks, and overall feels better to play. Not that the first one was bad or anything, but looking at both the 2nd has a more official polish to it which I appreciated.
Characters and Dialogue grew on me over time be it to a lesser degree than the first they are all still very well written. Spicy sense are also much better as well as regular event sense are a welcome upgrade.
I love the tone shift the first where your constantly in danger, now this one your never in danger yet one wrong choice and you could be which is a nice twist of expectations. Also like the more laid back vibe which was a welcome edition.
The Bad
Throughout the entire game I kept having the same bored feeling as I read text for 10 to 20 minutes at a time in between making choices. Its true I'm a slow reader, but the first game had a tone more choice pop ups to break up all the text. which in turn depending on said choice would shape your entire experience.
Lack of player agency and choice is apparent in this version of the game. As it stands the first game had choices where you could be mean or nice which isn't present here, and was very frustrating when the character would just be mean or nice without the game giving me the option to choose.
The artwork of the characters be it very good looking they don't look like they should be in the same game, and a lot of characters either have way too much or not enough clothing in my opinion just made the experience look off to me. However by the end the art style did start to grow on me, but still looked weird whenever Marie and Frenni came over beside the new characters.
Bugs {IDK IF THEY ARE JUST POINTING THEM OUT!}
When using the blue program on Arura the tiger and then talking with her the sprite doesn't show up.
While walking through areas especially in the beginning where it describes different rooms and places, but still shows only one backdrop is really strange feeling like there should be more backgrounds in those places.
In one of the interactions with Roxy I believe [ ] these show up and it feels like the text in them along with the brackets could just be took out. I get it might be like that's what the player thinks, but it just confused me and took me out of the experience more than anything.
Improvements
Definitely more player choice in terms of how the main character acts to the characters like the first game let you do. Not only would this be fun but it would help keep players engaged so its not just big blocks of text for 20 minutes straight.
Letting you the player choose which order to do regular job tasks would be welcome. I was extremely disappointed when it just cut to black and summarized what happened instead of letting me experience it.
Making the characters look more constant in art design with each other. Not saying they can't be over the top, or bare. What I'm saying is have a consistent style that you go with. Roxy, The Manager, and Arura are heavily clothed and over the top while Mia, and Chi are much more bare and reversed. As it is they don't look like they belong in the same building together. (NOTE: I realized you can't make everyone happy when it comes to art, but I wanted to give you my two cents in case others or even yourself feels the same way.)
When dealing with Roxy in the last few nights. I found it weird I couldn't have a choice between destroying her AI or using one of the Malo programs. I get you make the choice early on, but it feels weird its always a game over at that point and there is nothing you can do. Which I can think of two options.
1 Using either program. Since they are magical as well as technical it would make since that the AI wouldn't be able to fight it since its magic. Meaning you would be safe by that logic.
2 Asking one of the freed girls either Chi or Mia to help you destroy the AI by holding Roxy down if she becomes hostile. By that point in the game I freed Chi, and that's what popped into my head when I thought about my actual options I had, but the game didn't let me use.
DISCLAIMER
I really do understand this is a free game. That Fox makes these out of love and passion for there community in other words all of us. I understand content is subject to change. Like you reading this I love these games, and I'm being super critical about this game because there are expectations in it being a follow up to the first game, and in conclusion this is my honest feedback.
Its a great game, but a terrible sequel as it is.
