This was well done, though with where it went I think it should have a better trigger warning before you start. While there is a brief warning about disturbing subject matter, it goes by pretty quickly and is very generic. I can understand not wanting to spoil the story, but for people who've been in such situations, this could be a serious problem. Perhaps add an additional menu option to see the trigger warnings, so those who want to know can, without having to spoil anything for those who don't care.

I like that you include the menu controls on the title screen, especially with the use of tab for back. That seems an odd choice, as tab is generally used for navigating through controls and even having seen it, I pressed it out of habit to switch between elements. At least having seen the controls I realized what I did and could navigate to continue looking around.

It started off really cute, and then took a dark turn. The story progression worked well and was believable. The level difficulty also progressed at a good pace. I like how both the character at the side and the in game sprite changed as the story progressed. It was also nice that you added additional content in the extras about source material related to the story.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review!

A trigger warning menu is a really good idea. I will definitely use it in my future games.

Tab is the back button in the web version since pressing esc would exit full-screen. Is there a better button I could've used instead?

Buttons for web can be tough, and is often personal preference. Tab could work if you didn't have controls that make sense to navigate with tab. Depending on the game I've seen a number of options. Q, backslash, and backspace (though with web that can be a bad one if they lose focus) are fairly common. Left quote/back tick is also a decent choice being so close to Escape. We will often leave Escape as an option, along with a secondary non-escape key.
