Hello! while I also have limited information as ı haven't tried all choices here are few things ı can share you with:

-you can check the basement ıf you have +15 empathy points as ıt would lead you to some special place but ıf you dont have enough points then sadly the hunter will catch you there so ı dont suggest you to go there
-as for front gate you can wander around but ı also wouldnt suggest opening the door as hunter is also checking there and ıt would lead you to bad ending one way or another. but ıf you dont open the door and decide to stay then nothing bad would happen
-instead of going these places you can bind your time in library safely reading books ıf you got nothing else to do (going to guest room and going to courtyard is safe either) this way you can pass enough time without being have to deal with hunter or nate
