Congratulations on your first submitted game jam entry!

Played a couple of runs and liked it. I love the simple art style ... fits the genre well for me.

You asked for feedback on your project page. Here are the next things I personally would work on to make the game much more fun:

  • Make the player not stop abruptly, but smoothly over a certain period of time. This should make it feel better.
  • What about making the default falling speed higher? Or even better, have it accelerate by gravity! This makes it more dynamic and interesting.
  • Add some strategically placed collectable items. This forces the player into forward thinking and decision making, and increases the replayability.
  • Add some fitting background music. This adds so much to an enjoyable experience.
  • ... and yeah, i would make the collision detection perfect. This is the most important game mechanic after all ;-)

And most of all, just keep making games and have fun with it!

Thank so much for all the good advice!
I'm not sure how to do all of those things but I can definitely look into it. I tried to do the smooth movement but it wasn't working and I had to default to what I had
