Its a very unlikely scenario but the MC can survive Anthony in this instance, but only if they have very, very high empathy. If the Mc managed to pass the pacify skill check, Anthony will let the MC go and take out his aggression on Simon instead.
Omg, I did as you said and I was able to unlock a second empathy skill! I thought all unlockable skills were capped at 5 so I never bothered maxing one in particular. I can't wait to try the other options!
