yeahh the treatment of bismuth in the show is one that pisses me off still to this day.
1. because she's clearly black but gets thrown off and bubbled immediately unlike literally every other villain (including white diamond of all characters !!! she should not have gotten away scott free!!!)
2. because to my african punk ass she was totally in the right in her opinions and values.
3. because i genuinely love her design so bad.

Yeah honestly so much could've been handled with her better/more gracefully if she just hadn't been bubbled. In Future she still seems uncomfortable and her beliefs seem to never be proven wrong outside of the Diamonds changing their mind because Steven is literally Pink. If Steven and Rose weren't literally Diamonds, they likely would've only been stopped via shattering.
She is forced to be static while seeing change happen around her (which also happens to Jasper lmao). It's so weird considering Lapis and Peridot are added to the cast lineup yet Bismuth is just not.
I grew more fond of Bismuth's design post show's ending because she is beautiful giant lesbian. I disliked a lot of the sensibilities of SU's designs for black women but... lesbianism. She is the most butch design in the show and it sucks even more that she was gone because her presence made everyone feel so Lesbian.. Like it felt like Lesbian family culture then she was sent to Bubble Hell.
