I understand entirely brother. We all have lives that more often than not, get in the way. I just do my best to not be a total dick to people who appreciate the work I do. 95% of the people using your mods don't know what an xml is. They just know just know your sheds are cool and you make the game a lot more fun for them. Because they ask about the now broken customization option, doesn't mean they've stopped appreciating your work. They just know it doesn't work like it used to. It's a bit comical to me that a mod YOU used for folks to be able customize the colors of your product got updated, but you can't be bothered to fix a few lines of code so that your mods get updated too. I guess you'd rather have the lower ratings and a bunch of comments saying they're busted. Makes no sense.
