I have a stupid question: If I buy the the game now, would I get the future updates for free or would I have to buy the game again?
You would get them for free. But an itch purchase is separate from a Steam purchase.

Also, I honestly wouldn't mind buying the game twice on a different computer due to it's low price. But again, thanks for the heads up.
