Well, first of all don't make it paid if you want people to play it. The single best way to get attention is to make something outstandingly good and make it free, OR make lots of decent stuff which is also free. That's because most people aren't willing to pay unheard-of niche developers like you and me, even if it's just 1 USD. I know this because on my first itch.io account i shared a game for 0.50, and still not even a single person bought it. If the game's free, there's around i'd say a 70% more chance someone will play it. I usually get around from 20 to 50 plays a week. That's also why everything i make is free to play no payments. Alternatively, you could set up donations. Secondly I think you should customize your game's page, add a header logo, etc. to make people more interested in the game itself. And obviously add a description. Cheers!
