Hi. In case you aren't aware, "claiming" won't allow the full version to be downloaded after the sale ends. It's easy to tell, because (after claiming) the download button on the very top of the Plotastory page only offers PlotastoryFree.zip and not the full version.

Itch.io is screwy with how "claiming' works. A game/software page has to be set up the right way or "claiming" only makes the full version available to download until the sale ends. Otherwise, after a sale ends only the free version can be downloaded for anyone who "claimed" it. Which is odd and counterintuitive.

But there is a solution that I've seen work for other devs, which makes the full version for a claimed game/software downloadable even after the sale is over.

As another dev told me, the key is simply to mark the software as paid (check the “this is a paid game” box). Once that’s done, a new checkbox appears in the uploaded files section where you can mark one of the files as a free demo. That’s what solves the problem and lets people who claim able to download the full version even after the sale ends.

I don't know why Itch.io works that way, as you'd thing "claiming" always meant the full version would be downloadable even after a sale ends.

Thanks for letting me know this! I now have it paid so that when you buy it, you can download any new uploads forever!
