All I know is, most of the tracks were probably “meant” to be heard using Roland SC-55, but unfortunately I don’t know if there’s any particular file that won’t play properly in MUNT with CM-32.

I haven't tried Nuked SC-55, I'll have to give that a whirl next. There's an SC-55 soundfont from one of the archive.org packs that had a few hiccups for me, hopefully yours works out better. I've been stuck on my phone over Christmas so the Phoenix GM-10 soundfont has been working wonderfully ever since I flipped to it for a test.
Hang a reply if you try anything weird and wonderful that turns out sounding great. It's a fun rabbithole to fall down, trying all these soundfonts out.
edit: oh, I was just talking about .SF2 files but I see nuked is a much more comprehensive emulation. Whoops!
If you are interested in giving it a go, there is a recent fork of the Nuked SC-55 project with improved UI and other optimisations here. I’ve tested it briefly with Tobiden earlier today, and it seems to work fine. For this game, you might need to reset the emulator to GM mode first. The SC-55 manual should have the proper instructions on how to do it.
