It looks great, but I found the controls difficult to get to grips with, since it feels like you press a button and it doesn't quite react to it instantly. It's not my keyboard, and this is regardless of certain key-combos. I also couldn't punch the smaller creatures, so as I don't start with any bullets, most of the health bar for my one life is quickly taken by them.
And why is it only one life, anyway? This is a game, not reality.
