Not sure if you know this or not, but you just described a SUPERHOT mechanic, although in that game it's slightly different (no spoilers here!). SUPERHOT was one of my lingering inspirations for recoil! I'm glad you found this to be enjoyable!! Thank you, especially for the cool suggestion!!
