A few things for those that are in doubt: if you think it's "just a Ren'Py porn game" you haven't actually played it, and it shows.
- It's big... hours of game play and story with more than just H-scene filler; there is drama, suspense, plot twists, moral dilemmas... the 'AVN' aspect is more than covered. It already has enough body to constitute a 'finished' product on Steam.
- Mini-games and activities like gathering, fishing, time management, and making money-- fetch and step quests are there, but don't dominate your time.
- Leveling up has rewarding perks that offer new and interesting game mechanics-- from boosts to your moneymaking, relationship building tools, activity tools, and more. The game mechanics alone probably included more coding than would ever be necessary of anything that was "just a Ren'Py porn game". This is more than just "choices matter" gaming-- you have to play- and even grind- to advance the story.
- Glitches... I never found one... that's HUGE for most of the games you find here on Itch-- or Steam for that matter. A ton of testing and refining has made this game a smooth-running masterpiece on three different platforms. Not bad for free stuff... bringing me to my last point:
- Price... it's F R E E. Gratis. No money necessary to DL and play. I have games in my Steam library that cost me anywhere from $5-$120... and for free, it out-values fully 40% of them, considering it's big enough to be stand alone. The Christmas special alone is bigger than some Steam games.
All of that said, Komi isn't stretching anything out, or stringing anyone along-- they're trying to pull a second miracle out of their hat, so that we aren't disappointed in chapter one. You don't have to pay anything-- so why are you complaining? Those of us supporting Komi are doing it willingly, making informed choices to continue supporting them because we keep up in the recommended fashion: the Discord. If you think it's a scam, it's a damned poor one, because we that are doing this are kept in the loop-- you only need to look in the proper place. You casual complainers can pick up the finished-- and probably STILL free-- product when it's ready, just like those of us willing to support the project will. The difference? We helped.
That's all. "Suckers"? If you insist... but the game is free, and support is purely voluntary. The best part about being part of the support, is being along for the ride... if you know, you know.
Happy Holidays... and thank you very much, Komi, for everything you've already done, and everything you continue to do.
Cheers!
