I love this. My favourite game of the jam so far i think. Dead simple, yet also hilarious. I was dying laughing the first time i played this. The concept itself is very funny idea, and I also hate oblivious pedestrians with zero self preservation instincts.

I wish the horn was less limited so i could blast the horn more often. I think the lowered score from neighbours is enough punishment to encourage a “hornless” playstyle as optimal.

Likewise, I think running over tourists shouldn’t be a game over. I like the idea of getting to my tacos with the car covered in dead tourists cringing because I know i did poorly. I think it would suit the whimsical tone and encourage repeat plays.

Perhaps arriving at the store and finding an angry police officer or bleary eyed neighbours glaring at you to accompany your scores, implying “see if you can do better next time”. At least for me this would be preffered to a mid-run game over screen, in terms of enjoying that game fantasy of “try not to run over the dingbats” lol

Anyways great job, love it.

Thanks for the feedback, and the praise <3 I like your suggestions! I added the honk cooldown somewhat begrudgingly, thinking it would be less broken, in the game balance-sense. However, no-cooldown honking was a fun way to express the frustration, and how “aggressive action” affects the locals more than the tourists.

Adding score penalty to waking the neighbors fits with that, and so I think I’ll make some changes based on you suggestions :)
