I genuinely love Mall Kids and have been introducing it to my TTRPG guild. I'm hoping to run it more in 2026; the Spooky Mall and Commonwealth Records supplements are my favorites, and have been the source for tons of inspiring and hilarious stories.

I was wondering, though, how to contact the original creator, Mr. Gravelyn? See, I'm now helping with a Regency era LARP group, and have found that Mall Kids is an excellent system for adaptation into that setting, because it's so simple. Would that be something that I can do? If I choose to share it--for free, of course--here on itch.io or elsewhere, I imagine I'd need permission, yes?

Hello! I am Mr. Gravelyn! Mall Kids is already a hack of Grant Howitt’s Honey Heist, leveraging the core 2-stat mechanic. I added in the scene structure and pacing. Mall Kids is also available to hack; there is licensing and attribution information in the game booklet/PDF. There is also specific info for hacking and modding Mall Kids in the 2nd expansion: More Malls, More Kids if you are interested in seeing that. Also, feel free to message me directly if you have any specific questions. I’d love to see what you’re working on when it’s finished, so please feel free to message or tag me in that as well. Thanks for reaching out!

OMG! YOU REPLIED! I'm a HUGE fan and have run Spooky Mall and Commonwealth Records several times, each time to much joy and mayhem. Thank you so much! Once I finish layouting the hack, I shall tag you!!
