You need to have an e-mail client configured to open mailto: links. Failing that, manually copy-paste the e-mail address wherever you send e-mail from.
Well, you kinda need a permanent address attached to your account, so itch.io staff can use it to identify you. It's also handy if you lose your password or anything.
