I like the addition; you need a bigger boom to fulfill your aspiration. Other ideas as well: you purchase property that grants different boons/buffs, but each region specializes in various types, and you need special site-knowledge materials to build the time machine.
Have a job evolved with and as research unlocks stuff. Just some thoughts, I just completed my first run. So good so far.
