I enjoyed playing this! The pacing of the game is excellent. The warband building is quick to learn and the pacing makes it easy to experiment with. The pixel art and animations are fantastic and the music brings the vibe together perfectly. I enjoyed the upgrade progression and balance of battles with enemy warbands.
I must say I find the choice to use photos for battlefield backgrounds questionable because they conflict with the otherwise excellent artstyle. In regards to the battlefields, I think knockback or more varied unit attack ranges might have made better use of their often unutilised space. I also found it a bit tricky to clearly see what was going on at times due to overlapping health bars and sprites. I think a bit more spacing between some units and and a clearer indication of which unit is fighting which might help. Lastly, I thought some of the sound effects were a bit loud and didn't quite fit into the scene.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the game and found myself replaying it until I beat the final level. Great job!
