Aidan157, I just played your entry, Light, and I LOVE on how eminent and dark this game is. I especially love on how the VHS effect is utilized, and you really managed to pull that off in GameMaker! Even though it's a pretty simple 2D platformer, I still enjoyed my time with the game! And also, with the procedurally generated levels is a pretty unique take on this game! However, I have two main critiques about the game that mostly threw me off from the gameplay.
1. It's the platforming. While it's more or less basic, and that the light moves at a normal pace on the ground, the light jumps too low, especially if there's stars that I can't even reach.
2. It's the level switching. If I was holding down the right key, and I get transported to the next level, I'm still going to be holding down right and there might be a level to where there's a gap, and I accidentally fall through.
Nevertheless, that's all my critiques about the game, and I really don't take it seriously in these type of situations. I mean, the second critique I had was literally the EXACT same critique that I got from my entry, Duckie 'n' Egg. I especially hope you can improve and grow as a game dev, and keep doing you in the gaming industry! Oh, and 4.25/5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌘
Also, Aidan157, if you could play my game entry, Duckie 'n' Egg, and give feedback on it, I would be highly appreciative of you for doing so. This isn't self-promotion, by the way, but I can consider playing my game (and everyone else's, too!), in the 20 Second Game Jam 2025. Thanks a million and have a great and blessed day! ⭐💫☀️
