you are supposed to die. If you over levelled for it, or found a way to cheese it, the latest Patreon update now automatically kills you after some turns.
I was about to ask this same thing. I was wondering why nothing was happening during the fight, my evasion was too high so I wasn't getting hit. Cool, now to get myself beat.
