Thanks for the reply!
I ended up running this as part of an AP podcast's side episode and ran it like a sort of TAZ "Suffering Games." I was looking for a system that suited a trickster elder god's competition as a spooky event for Halloween during their current story's run. I remember hearing about your game through the RPG Goblin and Roleplay Rejects AP podcasts and thought it was a good fit.
I essentially wrote some mods to the game, to fit the idea and themes I was going with.
I asked about the hard successes, because I wanted to score the players at the end on whether or not the players would be corrupted or not. I made a few edits and I think it worked out, but played it is each challenge needed to be overcome in order to proceed to the next room. I was having them keep track of their Wizard and Wild scores and did a total at the end. It did make it feel more gamey as I had to have the roll for each challenge, but I also needed them to pop off on the Wild side more often to incur an Eldritch Power off a table.
The Eldritch Power would provide a -1 to each Wild roll, but most of the time would still add one point into Wild, in order to pop it off again at 6 for another power. This would entice the players to use more of the powers for easier successes, but then would unknowingly be taken over by the Elder God for their army in the full narrative.
Honestly, it was the first time running either, your game and the mods and I think it went well. I look forward to running Definitely Wizards another time with a more loose vibe for the challenges.
Again, great game!
