There was indeed an issue with the performance and watchtowers. Got a fix on the way however, we're currently waiting on a response from itch.io about the correct way to update the game without it being deindexed and delisted each time we push a new build. Once that’s resolved, we’ll roll out the update :D
And thank you as well for the other suggestions, we are looking into implementing them!
