In one of my longstanding groups, we have a tradition of running 3-shots to focus on PC downtime. It allows the double function of giving our usual DM the chance to be a player, other players the chance to slip into another character for a bit, and for each PC to have a story arc focused solely on their own development. I opened our 3-shot with Secret of the Night Market, integrating the market into an otherwise secluded forest town. Players happened to arrive on market day, and got to experience all the magic and wonder before an in-game week of forest horror - it was great, everyone had a wonderful time a the market, enjoying the NPCs, merchant stalls, and items they were able to find.
Definitely going to use this again in future!
