I'll eat whatever you put out anytime, chef. I started with Anthony route first, then Isaac, and finally Simon.

The gothic atmosphere is great; the soundtrack is great. The world's lore is certainly on the grisly side, which I really enjoy.

And (spoiler, I think?) the different information/events you get regarding what path you choose when you head down to the dungeon was so fun! Curious to see how much you will do with the energy-managing and skill system you've implemented.

I know this might be unlikely, but I GOTTA know the story behind Nathaniel 😂 Is he like,  Jonas' self-insert or something. And why is he SUCH an ass towards us. I thought we were Jonas' pookie and that feeling would, I don't know, transfer to the surly butler 😂

Spoiler: I think I was the most surprised by Simon! He seemed like a typical good guy at first glance, but he is actually kind of cold and cunning; we are nothing more than guinea pigs to him. His shift in character was extremely enjoyable. Out of everyone, he holds the most threat to MC in my eyes. After all, his work is directly linked with MC's traumatic past. I would have gotten a heart attack if I knew I had to re-live being medically tortured.

I'm also curious if any of the characters were inspired by the ADW and EXG cast? Anthony feels like an interesting mesh of Laurent and Jeth.

Hi Riyadth, ooh i'm glad you are enjoying my games! yes, i think there are some shared themes and ideas across genres, as they all have traces of my sensibilities and world outlook as a creator.

Many Spoilers:

As to answer some of your questions, I usually like to leave these kind of details to the interpretation of player but I do also have some intention as creator. How you envision the characters and their motivations is just as valid! This is just my personal thoughts, but it's not necessarily canon.

You might notice that Eve plays a more active role in EXG as the MC's game master. Reminding the MCs overarching lore, telling them to go to bed and keeping them on track of their goals.

Jonas is taking more a backseat in Allele as a game master, only chiming in directly when the MC dies and giving them a snippet of the overarching lore. Nathaniel serves Eve's role more, in telling the MC to go to bed and steer them back on track when they stray too far from the main plot. In my mind, Jonas felt didn't trust himself to be present in the story, that he thought he would be too doting and overprotective, so he made Nathaniel to fill the role and serve as a more stern guide. He often talks about how the hardships the MC endures are necessary preparation.

I don't think I conciously decided to make any of the Allele characters resemble any of my other characters but there will probably be some resemblances. Unlike ADW where the personalities were guided by faction and element, the characters in Allele are mainly shaped by their experiences backstories and roles. I don't think Simon would be so cold and calculating if he didn't deal with studying the plague, corpses and the bloody history of the institution, and I don't think isaac would be such a jaded jackass if he didn't have a loooong history of trust/abandonment/betrayal issues. I could talk about Anthony's issues and why he's like a sweetheart in his route and ruthless in the others, but more of that will come to light in chapter 5 and on. Thank you again for the interesting discussion! Best wishes <3
