I agree completely, it makes the movement feel unreliable and clunky. I use raycasting to judge if the player is on the ground, but I'm worried if I increase the minimum raycast distance for the player to considered on the ground, it will make the player seem to be able to jump from floating at some orientations, and regularly on the ground at others.
