What's the point of completely switching engines when the old one still worked fine and the new one apparently just makes it run worse? Like, sticking with the old engine doesn't affect you negatively in any way as you can literally just continue to bundle it together with the actual game. I just don't get it, especially when UZD isn't compatible with much of what you were already using. Just seems like unnecessary and wasted effort.

Hello =)

Let me explain, the GZDoom drama was and is one of the reasons.

The main reason, however, is the fact that GZDoom is dead, and I want to be absolutely sure that the mod will continue to run on other ports in the future.

Among other things, the development towards UZDoom is already complete. The switch to UZDoom has also finally made it possible to play the mod on mobile devices like smartphones, even with all GL features and pre-caching.

I'm not sure if I posted this on itch.io, but you can still play PK3 with your own source port if you want, maximum flexibility is what I was aiming for.

Nevertheless, I appreciate your thoughtfulness, but everything worked perfectly.

My current, much bigger problem is that I'm running out of ideas, but I don't want to deliver rubbish, so I'm holding off on the latest update for now.

However, you're welcome to test the pre-release version of UZDoom and the mod, the UZDoom version I'm using is the official stable release.
