Ended up replaying from the start and for some reason I still had a copy of the cake that just never got used.
Huh. Not sure how that could have happened, but the cake has been wiley. I have updated the game with a shotgun-fix for the cake. Please download V0.5.13 and restart day 34; that should resolve things
