just by designe alone i went into this game, no clue and no reading anything cause i like to be surprised. And may i just say , this was a gem. your use of ambience was very reminecent of the first (and best) alien movie, it felt so mysterious and never gave away what truly happened which made me anxious for the case of an intruder which kept me alert through out. i also like the look, reminds me of ultrakill meets star treck, giving that slight 8-bit , but had that futuristic feel. my only wish was for it to be longer with more things to do , but all in all, a good experience. keep up the good work.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this, it genuinely means a lot.

I drew a lot of inspiration from Alien and Event Horizon, and that whole late 80s and 90s sci-fi horror aesthetic. There’s something about that era’s atmosphere  (the quiet, the shadows, the sense that something is there even when nothing is shown) that I really love bringing into my games.

I also really enjoy leaving blank spaces for players to fill in with their own imagination, so I’m glad that mystery came through in your play-through.

Solitude was designed to feel like a single mission from a bigger universe, a glimpse rather than a full story. I’ll be releasing more short games with similar vibes and some experimental mechanics soon.

Thanks again for playing. Messages like this keep me going. 🙏
