Another super engaging Dick Storm adventure, another masterclass in world building and environmental ambiance, great entry!! The writing is awesome, I very much enjoyed reading through all the book entries and dialogue with Mr. Storm. A couple standouts that made me guffaw: the FredDurstxSonic tweet, and the hand-written note in one of the demon slaying chapters "girl, it's all just NaCl anyway" after specifying a specific type of road salt as being necessary. I felt very much a part of the world and you nailed the role-playing element of being the guy in the chair.
Normally in a game jam, I wouldn't care much about how text is displayed, but in this case, with so much of the core game play relying on reading text, I wish it had been given a bit more love. I spent quite a bit of time reading through all the books and really wish the text display was a bit easier on the eyes. The default font/size/color met the bare minimum requirement of being able to be read but there was much room for improvement in both personality and legibility. The text itself was really well-written and fun to read so it didn't stop me from reading everything I could, but a better aesthetic there would have made for a more enjoyable experience.
The banter with Dick was very funny, and the parts in the camera showing his escapades (getting chased by the demon, etc) were hilarious. I enjoyed having to decipher the puzzles and lend my man a hand. Unfortunately, the game crashed twice on me when I got to the part about finding out the demon's full name and I wasn't able to complete it. I did enjoy having the opportunity to select other dialogue options and read through the different responses from Dick in my second play through. I'll attach an image of the error message.
Overall, I really enjoyed this entry and it has all the charm and wit I've come to expect from a Dick Storm game. Great world building and writing, paired with a fun puzzle gameloop, awesome entry!!
