Sleeping doesn't do anything and there's no continue button on main menu
sleep can actually do something, at least in my game, you have to sleep two followed days, its suposeed to appear a new cutscene
He means new game, and at some point in the intro you'll have the option to continue from the end of the last update. I also found myself unable to continue my previous save.
