Very interesting idea, though I feel like you're probably taller than me as when I pilotted the mech my person was half inside the ground and i couldn't reach the missiles or lasers up top very easily. The climbing was also very glitchy, it didn't seem to like my left hand much and I had to pretty much climb with my right. My major complaint though is how easy it is to accidentally teleport outside of the mech meaning you have to climb all over again. I love the concept but the execution could use a bit more polish

Just saw the video, it is indeed a very basic prototype. Interesting idea, but I’d rather aim to enemies weapons to make them fall down then pick them up walking with the mech on top for a simple concept (with a crane or else in the future).
Reading the description of what is intended, I believe it could be a nice Mechwarrior remix. However, I got way too much frustrated from the beginning: climbing the mech might sound cool but it is pretty pointless, and teleporting by mistake makes you go down outside straight away (please disable it imo) FPV mech control could be cool if we had some hints/texts to know what geometry does what.
Here is a full playthrough in 1 minute (unedited is 3 mins 47 seconds).
- Climb into a mech and take control at the helm
- Throttle to move forward and backward and steering controls
- Battle requires changing your shield type to match the incoming weapons from the enemy and equipping the right weapon to defeat their current shield type (shown by the color of their cockpit)
- Once an enemy is defeated you can climb their mech and dismantle weapons by RIPPING them off with a WRENCH! In this case dismantling their Laser Cannon!
No sound, just one of a long list of things that make this a rough submission barely a prototype, everything is mostly untextured primitive shapes, but I'm really excited to have figured some things out with this jam that will allow me to make this game as I plan to in the future on VR and Desktop. Thanks for checking it out!
