Yes, we'll upload Mac and Linux versions tomorrow.

Thank you!

The Mac version is now available. Please keep in mind that we weren't able to test it because we don't have a Mac in our studio. Please let us know if everything worked correctly.

I'll test it on a couple of different Mac devices and report back if you like?

That would be super helpful! Thank you.

I'm not the original commenter but I do have a Mac Apple M1 chip. When I try to run the prologue build, it simply says:

The application “Prologue Build (Mac)” can’t be opened.

Thank you for reporting this. According to Unity, this build is supposed to work with Apple M1 chips. We'll see what we can do, but several players have already tried it without issues, so it might be a bit tricky to troubleshoot without a Mac in the studio.

Just a silly question - you did unzip the file before you tried to run it, right?

Of course, I assume it's just one of the many issues Mac has with Apple regarding firewall/safety. Not an issue native to this game either, some work and some don't. Mac is just weird with this stuff. But since some games do work, there's a fix for it, although unknown to me.

We did rebuild the game and reuploaded it. You may try to download it again and see if it works.

Nope, still didn't work, and just a quick question, when unzipped, the game should be 7.9 GB, right? I think there is a fix where the Mac user disables all firewalls/safety features on the Mac, but that's just very unsafe and not smart. Aside from that, same issue as before:

The application “Prologue Build (Mac)” can’t be opened.

So, we learned that it'll be a problem until we receive certification from Apple. To do so, we would have to buy a Mac, sign up for Apple's developer program, and pay a yearly fee. It's not something we have time or funds for right now. So until then, in order to run the game, you need to follow this guide we found on the Unity forum:

  • Those who download, do not double click it: right click and extract using a 3rd party extractor like The Unarchiver or Keka
  • Double-click the extracted app, and the Mac will show a message saying that it is not allowed to run
  • Go to system security settings, unlock it, and click to open it
  • Now it should work!

We'll try to have the game properly certified in the future, but for now, it's the only way to run it.
