Cosmic Greenery: I love the digital rain drops sound in the Logic stock instruments. That was a really good idea for conveying a cosmic environment. The chinese ruan moon guitar is another great choice to add a unique texture flavor! Overall there is a softness to this sound that has a natural quality to it all while still distinctly representing space which I think paints a “cosmic greenery” image really well. Because you asked for critical feedback, one comment I have is that the drum kit gets washed out by the richness of the pads. I can hear the sidechain effect so that the kick is audible, but I wonder if boosting some of the higher frequencies in the EQ could help let it punch a little more.
Spacewalk with a Side of Existential Dread: I think the reverb and specific combination of instruments you use is what adds the most weight to the existential dread side. It almost feels like there is a lively feel to the melody, but the long reverb sucks away the positivity of it. Great use of production to convey story elements! The melody especially in the final third of the piece with the underlying piano arpeggios really captivated me and the word contemplative seems like the perfect descriptor.
These tracks were very pleasant to listen to and allowed for that same reflection that you describe the astronaut feeling. I am appreciative that you still submitted even if it felt unfinished to you. Good work and thank you for sharing!
