Squeezed some time and played X first...
CH14 spoiler, read at your own risk
such a wet little meow meow, when you strip away the bluster, so endearing, so cuddly... and for my reserved MC they are behaving so nicely and try not to be too scandalous in public.
Though I adore the friendship scenes I got with the rest of the cast as well and I'm so glad everyone is getting screen time (Ishra my shrewd dearest, Ezo you awkward darling etc). Especially that we get to support R and meet their family on the friendship route and it's not reserved for a romance. It makes it really feel like MC is finding connections and building their own home and household with all these people around them and not just the RO and their associated group. Is X going to be sour that R received a handmade gift first? (playfully, obviously) I just feel like R might brag to X to get a reaction maybe.
Also Yekbun is endearing in their own way, too, but rather than getting to know them, we mostly use them as a bridge reaching for the parents... while understandable, it feels a little one sided. Like including their own research or family in the conversation topics would be nice. After all it's been ages since they knew MCs parents and they probably changed as people, while on the run with MC, so I feel it's a bit awkward to put that on Yekbun any more than this. Or at least it felt a bit awkward to ask them if MCs parents would be proud, bc what are they supposed to say? Obviously, yes, besides all the other reservations about the situation. It's not like they can really say no, either. I guess, I just wish Yekbun and MC forged their own relationship instead of just being each other's link to the dead parents? Well, the future is long.
Yes, the rest of the chapter was awesome, too, but I want to have something to praise for when I get to play the other's routes, too and this is getting long... Thank you for writing and sharing, it's a consistently amazing story!
I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter!! 💖
About Yekbûn specifically, she and the Crown will have opportunities to deepen their relationship later, but it wasn't really the time for that in this chapter considering how busy the Crown is atm. The Crown's question about their parents is not about the Crown actually doubting that, it's more of a veiled way of saying, "can you reassure me about this?" especially after they feel the weight of expectation on them more heavily than ever. There's social nuance there ;)
