Supporting creators is always optional so even if you don't pay them, it won't harm them that much. If $8 is too much, then you won't do Anything new by not supporting them.
If a brand prices themselves out of the market then they make nothing. If $8 is too much but $4 is not, and offering $4 means that you can attract 300 clients rather than 100, then you are actually killing your brand if you only offer $8.
