I just recently finished my Star Wars fan game and I wanted to try something new. Something original. I started toying with Horror games, but I have always loved Sci-Fi as well. So, after working with the two for a bit, I have finally come to my next project. Iron Chase: Death City is a Sci-Fi, Survival Horror game. It takes place in the year 2050, the year of the future! What a future it is. Just six years prior, an alien race, known as the Vogar, have attacked earth. Entire cities have been laid to ruin, and most surviving humans have been evacuated to the lunar colony, where a shield generator protects them from the Vogar. The war has led to many technological advancements, the greatest one being an elite group of super soldiers. They have been entrusted with the protection of humanity, and for three years, they have. But now, with all of earth evacuated to the moon, it is time to leave humanity's home planet behind. You are Sgt. Edward Meeks, an officer in the ranks of the super-soldiers. You, as well as many of your comrades, have been protecting Seattle, the last human held city, as it evacuates. All remaining civilians have been evacuated, so now it is the turn of you and your team. As you board your evacuation shuttle, you think of earth. How it has belonged to humanity for thousands of years, given to us by God, for it to now be taken away from us. You look out the window in contemplation. You stare out onto Seattle, your home, and wonder if you will ever see it again. As you do, you see something strange. You must be seeing things, but it looks like a a blue beam of energy is heading toward the shuttle. Then, it happens. The shuttle rocks with the hit, and the automatic warning message repeats over and over. Confused, you hold on tight to your seat, and your companions do the same. Before long, the warning systems shut down. As does the rest of the ship's systems. Your city begins to fall, with no power. A dead weight, falling right into the heart of the city. There is a rushing of wind, a crash, a moment of pain, then nothing.

You awake, surprised that you are alive. Your shuttle has crashed on top of a building, and it is a complete wreck. Your companions, and the pilot are all dead. Even if he were alive, this ship was never going to fly again. You take a moment of silence to mourn their loss, taking comfort only in the soft howling of the breeze. They are gone. You must find a way to save your self. Using your emergency boot thrusters, you lower yourself to the ground. Knowing that there are Vogar in the area, you reach down to draw your sidearm. But when you draw it, you realize that it was totaled in the crash. It is now unusable. It is a wonder that you are still alive. Frustrated, you fling the pistol to the ground. You were now stranded in the middle of a city, surrounded by enemies, with no way to defend yourself. Classic. Just as you are about to lose hope, you get a call on your radio. Commander Gilno is still on the ground. He has the last shuttle ready to go. He was doing a last sweep for survivors, and he accidentally picked up your radio channel. He is ready to take you with him, as it was an alien EMP gun that had taken out your shuttle. But, the streets where you are are to narrow for him to pick you up where you are. You will have to go to him. He tells you to make your way through each of the city transits to get to where he is. He warns you that there are Vogar Commandos patrolling, and that it only gets tighter the closer you get to the docking bay. Willing to take the risk, you set off into the night. This wasn't going to be a battle. This wasn't going to be a mission. This was going to be a chase. The chase that would define the rest of his life. The Iron Chase.

What you just read is the baseline story for the game. You must make your way though Seattle, avoiding Alien troops along the way. The goal of the game is to get to safety and fly off to the lunar base. As you make your way through, the alien guard will get tighter and tighter, so be ready. I have all the assets and team I need already, and I have created the first level already. I'm considering doing 3 -5 levels, but that is still a ways away. I have been doing most of the 3D models for this game, like cars, shuttles, the city, and pretty much everything you see, including the character you play as. Big thanks to my animator Mas Iamo for, one, doing all the animations. Two, he is the one who created the awesome alien 3D model for the project. I can't wait to show it to you. I will try to update this devlog at least once a week to let you know how things are going. This is a project I am really pumped about and I hope you like the idea. I hope to show some early game play soon, along with UI and more. Subscribe to this topic to see when I update it. As far as release date goes, I'm not sure yet, but I am hoping for late 2020 or early 2021.

More progress on the levels and UI is coming along. A demo will be shown soon. Next update will showcase the character models, and maybe even some of the world.

Sounds interesting! I especially like the idea of your weapon being broken at the start.

Thanks! I decided to use this feature to add a sense of dread and helplessness, with only one hope of escape.

Here is an early main menu. A few things might change, but it will stick to this general vibe. On the left is the Astronaut model, and on the right is the Vogar (Alien) model. I did the Astronaut model, but big thanks again to my animator, Max Iamo for making and texturing this awesome alien model. Next time I hope to showcase some of the music we have ready for the game.

This is one of the new songs that will be on the game's soundtrack. It has just the right mood and feel for what we are making. Big thanks to Savfk Music for helping us put this track-list together. I hope you enjoy it.

Hello to everyone keeping up with this devlog, and hello to anyone new.  I have a level completely ready and I want to showcase it.  As of now I have two options. One, create a early access release (far from the finished product) for anyone to download for free. Two, I can screen record some game-play and show that here. I was more inclined to use the 2nd option, but all the free screen recorders I could find are system intensive and take recordings at 480p at best, which is not good. Let me know If you guys know of a good screen recorder that can take good footage for free. Also let me know if you would like to have a early access release instead.

Hey everyone. Funding for the project is getting a little tight, and we are worried about the project budget. Due to this, a early access for the game featuring a small part of the story will be releasing soon. However, because of the budget cuts, the full game may not be ready for release until later than originally planned.

Sorry to say, the project is canceled due to other projects getting in the way. Sorry to everyone who was interested.
