That's awesome, Twine is a really fun tool for narrative design. This might sound strange, but my tip would be to not worry about perfectly optimizing your project. I'm not sure how much you've used Twine before, but I've seen newer developers stress about making their early projects really fancy and using the best code practices, and while those things are great, they end up being an unnecessary hurdle and often result in burnout before the project can even be completed. Just start making the story/game you want to, and slowly add more complex stuff as you feel comfortable. And have fun!

And if you want a more technical tip, look into embedding passages inside other passages! Incredibly useful for organizing more complicated functions. I used them a lot for the mechanics in The Dust Below. In Harlowe it would be the (display: "passage" ) macro, and Chapbook  it would be {embed passage: 'passage'}.
