Very good foundations. But the balancing is super off. The beginning is not the best to play through. Multiple times I couldn't get any bits because they would either not spawn at all or spawn so far I couldn't reach them in the time limit. I would suggest at least making the bits spawn consistently and during the entire time. The next issue is the enemies. There is no reason to buy integrity until higher levels and multiple purchases of time upgrades. And by that point I found I still outspeed them. Making them a more consistent threat for at least middle to late game will definitely help. The third is an add to the first. It wasn't until I bought a lot of time upgrades that I could keep up with the price increases. Turning down the prices will help make the early game feel rewarding instead of punishing. Still, a great foundation. Would love to see where this goes.

Hi there,

I appreciate you taking your time to leave a comment and playing the game! These are very valid points, at this moment I am reworking the entire upgrade system and skill tree system. It will be harder to unlock certain upgrades, as they will be locked behind others, forcing player to make choices in gameplay, etc.

I will definitely improve on all the points you stated!

Thank you again!

After playing again, this is way better now. The balancing is fixed for the most part. The new skill tree upgrade system makes it feel way better. It feels rewarding to play in the beginning and only gets more so as you get upgrades. And the pricing for upgrades is so much better. It took me 40 runs to get the first upgrade before the update, but now I can get multiple in just 10 runs. I only have a few visual problems with it now. The CRT effect always turns on every new run, even if I turn it off. Effects like that make my vision blurry and sometimes makes me sick. This one was minor and didn't affect me too much, but I would appreciate not having to turn it off every run. The other issue is the enemies dying looks way too similar to collecting bits. Especially in later levels I found it hard to understand what was happening with so many of the same effects on screen at once. More distinction between them, and maybe a way to turn off those effects or reduce them, will definitionally help. Other then that, this is an amazing start to a game. Looking forward to seeing its future.

Hi again!

Thanks for giving BitGrinder another try. I'm very happy that you like the new update! I'm currently working on the 0.0.3 version! I play with CRT, so I haven't even noticed that it kept resetting, thanks for letting me know, I will make sure that it keeps it saved in the users save file for now (later I will make a settings config)! As for particles, I will have to postpone that, but in the near future I will add a feature to turn off/reduce certain particles in settings menu, thanks for the suggestion!

I am so happy that you gave the game another go, the new update will be live in a bit.
