I tried to blend short rules with a friend‘s preference for wargaming, which I would usually not be interested in as much as other games :)

Love how you embraced that challenge!

After fermenting, here's my thoughts/feedback:

I love the art, and there's a great framework here.  But some key details are missing that should be filled in.  Mainly, that of feet.  You can add 15 feet to range or speed as an upgrade, but how many feet is normal range?  What is "base-to-base contact"?  Is this another way of saying adjacent squares/hexes?

Speaking of squares/hexes, movement is a bit hard to grasp, because I don't know what 15 feet should convert to on a (hex) grid.  Should 15 feet be 1 square/hex?  Or should each square/hex be 5 feet?  Or bigger, or smaller?  What do you envision for this?

A troop can be fully or partly behind cover, but the concept is a bit vague.  What examples of cover fit in each category?  If I'm using a (hex) grid, how should I show each type on it?

Finally, would love to see some examples of Specials.  Awesome idea, just missing a demonstration or two.
