sorry rpg maker is giving you kittens... i know it can be finicky and at times rage inducing. if you got the time and mental fortitude rather then using a pre made engine write one in c++, that way you have total control... wont lie its the hard route but theres nice tutorials on it, would recomend brocodes tut series on youtube.

I was personally thinking Godot because of the scripting and the visual/node-based scenes but making an engine could work too. I'm honestly pretty new to coding so it may be pretty tough but having whole control over all of the functions and just everything does seem nice. That is one of my many problems with RPGM, it's hard to really have anything that's not already in the engine. I will definitely look into this though, I just think anything is better at this point ;-;
