I have the same question, mate.
The skeleton is a troll character. It's only purpose is to give you access to the map it comes in.
Then you can place various characters IN that map with the pumpkin hat on and something will happen when the piston does its thing.
It's actually for unlocking a hidden character
Wait the skeleton has a usage except just giving us the ritual map?
