You obviously need to download the update. It's not magic brother.
no i meant, do i have to REINSTALL the entire game? Or does it download the update upon the start?
If you're using the installer it handles it for you. The zip you'll need to remove the original and put the new one in. Please refer to the instruction guide found within the game files.
