As stated on the Sample Project page, it does not includes any paid plugins:

If you buy a plugin from me, then you must copy and paste it inside the JS files of the Sample Project. Then, open the plugin manager and just set the paid plugin to ON(because the Plugin Manager will already have an entry for it, but it will be set to OFF by default.)

Now, when you said: "went looking for the free bitmap fonts", you mean the free version of the plugin, I do not support it anymore. There is only the paid version of the Bitmap Font plugin.

AH, yeah I meant the free version. On https://hakuenstudio.itch.io/eli-bitmap-font-for-rpg-maker it does advertise a free version and implies that there are features specific to the pro version which the free one doesn't have which in itself implies there's a free one in the first place. Regardless thanks for the support
