I was also concerned about the rules but one of the hosts said if the browser zip file exceeded itch's 1k item limit "export a desktop windows build for your game and upload that. Make sure to explain the reason why you had to do that on the itch page in the description, so people/moderators know what happened.", so we're hoping everything works out.
