I must start with saying; the game looks gorgeous. No seriously, it's beautiful, you really outdid yourself on that front

I do have a good few problems with the game nevertheless.

The difficulty is bonkers; it's frustrating, and the amount of damage enemies do forces the player to play more defensively and slowly; an obviously stark contrast to what you were going for.

I understand what you were trying to go for and that similar games are as such, but for a game jam it is simply not sufficient. The enemy hitboxes were also rather small.

When you get the hang of the game though it's an absolute blast; the movement mechanics are very intuitive and pave great potential for interesting level design. My only problem with it is that you really should just be running by default; in such a fast game, I always forget to run, and it's annoying to have to hold down the shift key whenever I want to.

Some levels I had no idea where I was going to be honest, though that may just be a result of my own mistakes.

Overall, it's extremely polished, and the shooting and movement mechanics are insanely fun, though it is locked behind an exceedingly high skill gap, not sufficient for a game jam.

First, I want to say thank you for playing! And thank you for the in-depth review, I appreciate people like you that help me improve my craft.

I agree with most of what you're saying, and I feel the games level design was its weakest point, and is what resulted in a lot of difficulty. To be honest I'm not a great level designer but working on getting better! I wanted to make some larger levels more focused on speed and movement and less focused on combat, but I just lacked the time unfortunately,

I had a few testers test for me and most of them did tell me it was a bit of a difficulty curve, but I was also told not to change it as they liked the challenge in such a short game. Though in hindsight I should've implemented some difficulty settings to please all types of players, especially in a game jam like you said.

I'll continue to get better and learn from this project, it was really fun making it! Thanks again for playing and leaving such a helpful comment!

Yeah, exactly- a difficulty slider would've fixed many of the problems, allowing players to both experience the game as intended, while also allowing those not prepared to dedicate much time to the game to still enjoy it.

I agree, i was able to finish the game because i kept spamming the shooting, thus being able to go anywhere,i dont know if is a bug but dont remove it because is the funniest mechanic of the game.
