Hopefully not spoiling this for anyone, but I believe the curly braces make the encrypted letters inside into a ||homophone|| ..?
A very fun (even if relatively simple find-and-replace) puzzle, cool and unique for this jam too :) I especially enjoyed the meta-style puzzles at the start and end of the doc with the algebra type stuff.

Thanks a lot for the nice comment! When playtesting nobody got the curly braces so I made some changes and added more puzzles with them, so I'm glad to see they're good know (BTW you are correct about curly braces)
