Loved the pre-credits ending, the post-credits ending feels very out of place afterwards... I could see it for the character, but it feels very very odd and disjointed, like horror movie stingers that were tackled on for sequel-bait.
Same to be honest. It feels exactly like that, a sequel-bait.
Honestly the prologue could have been written differently, idk. Maybe give a prologue to the prologue [spoilers ahead].
I just could not feel happy at all seeing the prologue (what happens after the time skip), it is supposed to be bittersweet I guess, but it is not since well, everyone gets back together. The problem is that we were stripped from having a happy "ending" over absolutely nothing.
When we get back from the final fight, there is a huge time skip where all the happiness happens and we are left out of it. And after the time skip all we get is to see, well, that everyone (left) is alright, but that they are all separating from each other (only for a long time, but still), and the last thing we know of them is that, they are not together anymore.
You know, reading it just felt like we were stripped out of our reward for reading until the end. After all that we went through with Alex... The frustration over his uncontrolled rage, discomfort while we watched powerless as he became something cruel and distorted, the hope we held for him to heal and get better... We went through all of that with and for him, and at the end he gets to be happy (somewhat, for a while), but we do not get to see that.
Its just not fair, nor a good prologue Id say.
