WRT new update (specifically adventure mode): I think the problem with existing difficulties is that they punish noobs by depriving them of resources (health, minecoins, etc.), but if you're a really good player you'll accumulate an excess of resources with nothing to do with them. So the people who need them least are getting them the most and vice versa.
Casual mode seems to mitigate that by just removing the penalty for dying outright but that feels hacky. If you want to keep the arcadey feel of restarting the entire episode when you die then maybe checkpoints at certain milestones could work?
