Hello, before I begin, I want to clarify that this message is written with respect and sincerity. I hope you won’t delete it before giving a chance for a proper reply like last time. I truly believe open communication benefits both sides.
I’d like to clarify that my previous comment wasn’t speculation — it was based on the current in-game content and design. My concern isn’t about misunderstanding the system, but about how forcing players to experience a bad ending just to unlock a character skin seems inconsistent with the game’s main theme of “rebirth” — turning regret into a new beginning.
Many of us have supported this project from the start because the theme of rebirth gave us hope — we wanted to experience a story where the characters could rewrite their past and find happiness. But when rewards are tied to endings that directly contradict that idea, it weakens the overall theme and makes players feel discouraged instead of inspired.
I completely respect your creative freedom. However, since this project has been developed for years through patron support and Early Access, it’s natural that players care deeply and want to provide constructive feedback — that’s the entire point of an EA or community-supported development model.
If you don’t wish to handle player feedback or controversy, the best approach would be to release a full version directly, rather than relying on long-term patron funding or Early Access sales. Otherwise, when players have invested money and years of trust, sudden creative changes or overly rigid management can easily make loyal supporters feel betrayed — even if that was never your intention.
If possible, please consider alternative options — for example, allowing players to unlock character skins through achievements or normal story progression instead of requiring a bad ending. That approach would better fit the rebirth theme and make most long-term supporters happier.
Lastly, if other players feel the same way, please share your thoughts below.
The more people join the discussion, the clearer it becomes that this isn’t just one person’s opinion but something many of us genuinely care about.
We all want this project to succeed — that’s exactly why, after all these years, we’re still here giving feedback and support.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
